Safeguarding is not just a compliance requirement — it is a reflection of an organisation’s values, leadership, and commitment to protecting people from harm. For Board members and trustees, the role is vital: effective governance ensures that safeguarding is embedded in organisational culture, decision-making, and accountability structures.

This course is designed to deepen Boards’ and trustees’ understanding of safeguarding principles, clarify their responsibilities, and equip them to provide effective oversight. Participants will explore accountability, risk management, survivor-centred responses, serious incident reporting, and conflict of interest in grant management. The training also highlights the importance of leadership in fostering a safe, ethical organisational culture.
